EARLY CAREER SCHOLARSHIP

The Early Career Scholarship provides three graduating fellows with access to select CHEST educational offerings for one year. In alignment with our core values of inclusion, innovation, advocacy, community, and integrity, CHEST recognizes that a diverse chest medicine workforce is the key to unlocking best patient outcomes. Supporting the development of CHEST members from historically excluded populations enriches the field of chest medicine and moves us closer to achieving health and professional equity. The goal of the scholarship is to increase and attract young clinicians to CHEST; introduce them to leadership opportunities within CHEST; and build a meaningfully diverse pipeline of future members, volunteers, and leaders for the organization. 

The Early Career Scholarship is supported by CHEST and generous gifts from our members. 

SCHOLARSHIP INCLUDES 

• CHEST Annual Meeting 2025 registration fee 
• One live learning registration fee and $1,000 to cover travel costs  
• A one-year subscription to the CHEST SEEK^® Library 
• One year of Enhanced CHEST membership 
• Mentor via CHEST 
• Award recognition at a CHEST Annual Meeting 

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Live learning course attendance and completion of all course requirements 
• Feedback to course leaders regarding the learning experience
• CHEST Annual Meeting attendance and completion of session/meeting evaluations 
• One blog post describing the experience 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• Must be an outstanding chest medicine fellow graduating in 2025
• Must be a CHEST member at the time of application 
• Must submit a letter of recommendation from a CHEST leader or program director 
• Must submit a current curriculum vitae
• Must complete all application fields and survey questions  
• All materials must be submitted by Friday, May 23, 2025. 
• All applicants will be notified regarding their nomination status by June 30, 2025
